Project Background
Shenyang South Railway Station, located in Shenyang's Hunnan District, is Northeast China's newest large-scale high-speed rail hub. It occupies a large area and is designed to handle high passenger volumes.
As a key regional transportation hub connecting multiple railway lines, the station requires an HVAC system that combines high capacity, continuous operation, passenger comfort, and energy-saving operation. Aolashu was honored to be selected to provide the HVAC system for key areas of the station, supporting its functionality and sustainability goals.
Project Challenges
● High Passenger Flow and Capacity: The station serves a large number of passengers daily, requiring the HVAC system to maintain stable comfort levels despite varying loads.
● Complex Functional Zoning: Each area, including the waiting hall, platforms, commercial areas, and administrative offices, has distinct load profiles, ventilation, and noise control requirements.

Aurashu delivered a tailored HVAC solution including:
● High-efficiency chillers and modular air handling units for large waiting halls and commercial areas.
● Large-capacity air handling units (AHUs) for platform areas and passenger concourses provide high fresh air volume, humidity control, and noise reduction.
● Fan coil units and terminal units for administrative and retail areas enable zoned control for enhanced passenger comfort.
● Intelligent Building Management System (BMS) integration—supports real-time monitoring, energy efficiency analysis, adaptive control strategies, and predictive maintenance.
● Optimized and adapted for high-traffic public environments: precise temperature/humidity control, low noise levels, and rapid response to changing passenger traffic.
Technical Highlights
● Through variable speed drives, heat recovery, and zoning strategies, the system achieves approximately 20%-30% higher efficiency than traditional systems.
● Thanks to carefully selected equipment and acoustic treatments, noise levels in public and commercial areas remain below design thresholds.
● Smart Monitoring: IoT sensors embedded in the air handling units (AHUs) and chillers enable remote diagnostics, fault alerts, and lifecycle management.
● Full Lifecycle Support: Aurashu provides operations and maintenance training, spare parts planning, and service agreements to ensure ongoing performance.
