Project Background
Located in Beijing's Central Business District, the new CCTV headquarters is a key national media construction project, with a total construction area of ​​approximately 550,000 square meters.
As a high-end facility integrating broadcasting, production, office, and public spaces, its heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system requirements are extremely stringent: 24/7 operation, highly sensitive equipment cooling, spacious auditoriums and studio areas, and high standards for indoor air quality, energy efficiency, and reliability.

Aurashu was honored to be selected to provide a centralized HVAC solution for key areas of the building, helping the client achieve green building performance, a low noise environment, and long-term stable operation.
Project Challenges:
   ●  Complex functional zoning: Studios, offices, production rooms, and public visitor spaces each have distinct load profiles, acoustical, and air quality requirements.
   ●  High reliability and continuous operation: Broadcasting and production cannot tolerate extended downtime; the HVAC system must support uninterrupted operation even under peak loads.
   ●  Energy conservation and environmental protection goals: As a landmark and flagship building, the project emphasizes sustainable HVAC design, low energy consumption, high energy efficiency, and intelligent control.
   ●  Stringent indoor comfort and noise control: For the studios and offices, the HVAC system must operate quietly and stably control temperature and humidity, even under the influence of external urban noise and solar gain.
Solution: Green Smart HVAC Systems
Aurashu delivered a comprehensive HVAC package including:
   ●  High-efficiency chillers and modular air-cooling units for peak studio/production loads;
   ●  Precision air handling units (AHUs) with multiple zones for studios, production rooms, offices, and common areas, each equipped with humidity control, sound attenuation, and a high fresh air ratio;
   ●  Fan coil units and terminal units for offices and common areas enable flexible zoning, occupant comfort, and easy maintenance;
   ●  Smart Building Management System (BMS) integration: remote monitoring, fault prediction, energy consumption analysis, and automated control strategies to reduce operating costs and ensure a consistent environment;
   ●  Commissioned and tuned to studio-grade requirements: vibration isolation, acoustic optimization, and redundancy in critical areas.
Technical Highlights
   ●  The HVAC system is designed to achieve energy savings of approximately 20-30% compared to conventional systems (based on modeling).
   ●  Thanks to carefully selected equipment, acoustic enclosures, and duct silencers, noise levels in the studio area are well below regulatory thresholds.
   ●  Variable speed drives, heat recovery, and zoned control enable high part-load efficiency and flexible control.
   ●  A full lifecycle support program includes remote monitoring, a preventative maintenance program, a spare parts library, and on-site operations team training.
